Darwinism Is an Ideology, Not a Science - 22.08.2008 Israel/YNET
YNET, the web site of the well-known Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, carried an interview with Adnan Oktar by science editor Avital Lahav on 22 August 2008. YNET, which is published in Hebrew and English and is Israel’s most popular virtual newspaper, carried Adnan Oktar’s responses under the heading “Darwinism Is an Ideology, Not a Science.”

· You claim that Darwinism's biggest weakness is its reliance on coincidental events. Can the process of "Natural Selection" really be described as coincidental? Is not the principle "Survival of the fittest" a guiding hand?
The theory of evolution proposes two mechanisms for the emergence of new species. One is mutation, and the other is natural selection. The entire scientific world now regards mutation as at best neutral and as generally damaging to living organisms. In the same way, no new species can ever emerge by way of natural selection. By means of natural selection the fastest antelope in a herd running away from a lion will survive because it is the fittest, but that antelope will never turn into another life form, a cheetah for example. That being the case, Darwinists have no reply to the question of how hundreds of thousands of different species came into existence. It is a great mystery for evolutionists how, although it is impossible for the first living cell to have emerged by chance and it has been definitively proved that this is impossible both biologically and mathematically, this first cell supposedly turned into birds, carnations, tigers, cats and human beings that found civilizations, study the internal workings of the atom, compose symphonies, write books, judge, love, are loved and feel compassion. The existence of living things, their variety and perfection, are not the work of blind chance, mutations or natural selection. Allah created the entire universe from nothing, together with all the living creatures in it, and science confirms that fact.
· You mention various elements of the Darwinist theory for which no evidence are available. Yet this does not settle the contradictions between the story of creation and what we now know about the world. How do you explain fossils dating back millions of years, or the parallels between the biblical story and former folk tales of the Mesopotamia civilizations? Is the incompleteness of the Darwinist theory a sign for the accuracy of the story of creation?
There is no contradiction between the creation Allah reveals in the Qur’an and scientific findings. Allah tells us in the Qur’an that He created the Earth in six days. These six days may be very different in the sight of our Lord, Who is unfettered by space and time, than our conception of six days. Archaeological discoveries concerning the lives of past peoples and their cultures and civilizations are in complete agreement with what is revealed in the Qur’an about those communities. The theory of evolution has been depicted as the only scientific theory that supposedly accounts for the origin of living things for some 150 years, and is also used as a tool in order to turn people away from belief in Allah. The only reason why evolution is so stubbornly kept on the agenda, despite the fact it has scientifically collapsed, is that it represents a so-called scientific basis for materialism and atheism. Anyone looking for a rational and logical answer to the question of “how and why we came into being” will see Allah's creation. That is because not only does science demolish evolution, it also, through the findings it reveals, proves that Creation is the one and only truth.
· Why is the dependency of fascism and communism on Darwinism an argument against this theory? Should a scientific theory be judged based on the ideologies that adopted it?
It is inaccurate to regard evolution as being solely to do with science. Ever since the day it was first proposed Darwinism has been more than a scientific matter. Darwinism has its own world-view, and that is where the real danger lies. According to evolution, man is a kind of animal, for which reason relations between human beings are the same as those among wild animals. In such a system ruthlessness, cruelty, oppression and exploitation of the weak, murder, terror and anarchy are perfectly legitimate. If you tell a young person right through his school years that he is a kind of animal, that struggle between animals is legitimate, and that he can only survive by being strong and ruthless, if you indoctrinate him with the lie that people outside his own race have no right to live, if you describe human beings as machines without souls, and if you inculcate the falsehood that everything consists of matter, that young person will be able to kill innocent people without a moment’s compunction. If, however, you make it clear that the world-view and life style espoused by Darwinism are not scientific, if you teach the love, compassion, peace, friendship and brotherhood commanded by Allah, if you describe the beauties of true religious moral values, then you can establish a climate in which all people can live in peace, no matter what their religion, race or tongue.
· What are your predictions for future generations? Will materialism really decline? It seems as if, at least in the Christian world, it is stronger than it ever was.
Materialism has had a genuinely powerful influence on European civilization in particular over the last 150 years or so. For decades, materialism has crushed human beings, plunged them into darkness, strangled their pleasures and condemned them to stress and unhappiness. But this negative influence is finally being eradicated and the darkness of materialism is being lifted. By Allah’s will the Atlas of Creation in particular has had a great and powerful impact in this area. Surveys conducted in France, regarded as the cradle of materialism, in the wake of the arrival in Europe of the Atlas of Creation reveal that people no longer believe in this ideology and regard Creation as a scientific reality. The collapse of materialism will accelerate even further in the days to come. With the disappearance of materialist and atheist ideologies in the near future the world will achieve a happiness the like of which it has never known before. A world in which people can live freely as they choose, without building walls, without suffering constant tension, without spending millions of dollars on arms, without being slaughtered and without fearing being exiled from their lands, a world in which everyone can worship as they choose, where they can trade freely, in short where they can live free and human lives, is close at hand. They will live as they choose in that world, and not only believers but also atheists will be free to express their opinions. Everyone’s human rights will be protected. In such a world, of course, Israelis and Palestinians, who have suffered such troubles and difficulties for so long, will also be liberated, and those lands, sacred to us all, will become a place of peace as commanded by our Lord and described in His Books of Truth.
· What has happened to the Islam civilization? Why is a civilization, which was once at the foreground of philosophy and science, considered by many today to be a threat to humanity?
Islam is a religion of peace and love. The behavior and moral values Allah commands in the Qur’an mean that Muslims must be forgiving and understanding, respectful of other views, forward-looking, compassionate towards members of other faiths, reflective and capable of enjoying art and beauty in the knowledge that such things are manifestations of Allah, moderate and tolerant. Societies that genuinely live by the moral values of the Qur’an are productive and enlightened. The Turkish-Islamic Union needs to be established as a matter of urgency for such enlightenment to be attained today. This will be a moderate union. It will be a union based on respect for human beings, based on tolerance and compassion, open-minded and free-thinking, a union of brotherhood and love, rather than one of fanaticism, repression and subjugation. It will establish security for those nations uniting under it and to the other nations of the world. The Turkish-Islamic Union will lead the way to the 21st century being an age of enlightenment. The enlightenment brought about by the Turkish-Islamic Union will bring beauty to the whole world. With the founding of this union the USA, Russia, China, Israel and the nations of Europe will see that all long-standing problems have suddenly been resolved, and that will be of benefit to one and all. Terror will come to an end, distribution of raw materials will be guaranteed, the economic and social order will be protected and cultural conflicts will disappear entirely. America will no longer have to send troops to lands thousands of kilometers away, Israel will no longer live behind walls, the countries of the EU will encounter no economic barriers, Russia will have no more security concerns and China will have no trouble finding raw materials. A powerful Turkish-Islamic Union will benefit all nations.
· I understand why Mr. Yahya regards Darwinism as cruel, but even he has to admit that it is a scientific theory, not only an ideology. Does a scientific theory have to be beautiful, kind and merciful in order to be true?
It once again needs to be made clear that Darwinism is an ideology. It is not the fact that it is not a pleasant, agreeable and kindly theory that enables us to see that the theory of evolution is untrue, but the fact that it conflicts 100% with the scientific findings. Science declares that “there is no evolution.” The important thing here is why it is so stubbornly espoused by certain circles and continues to be portrayed as scientific, even though it so clearly stands in contradiction to science. The reason for this is that evolution is an entirely ideological concept, rather than a biological hypothesis. The only reason for the evolutionists’ loyalty to the theory is their ideology. It is ideological concerns that underlie the panic that has arisen in the face of the collapse of the theory of evolution. There are dozens of theories that were once proposed and then abandoned once their invalidity became apparent. The normal course of events is for, like all theories proved to be incorrect, the theory of evolution to be abandoned once it becomes apparent that it conflicts with science. Yet materialists refuse to do this because once they do so their most important foundation will be eliminated and it will become impossible to defend materialism. Otherwise, the fact that the emergence of even one single protein cannot be explained in terms of evolution would be enough for any rational, scientifically-minded people to turn their backs on evolution. If that’s not so, then one should reflect on the reason why. This means that evolution is not a theory weighed solely in the light of scientific thinking.
· His vision of the Turkish-Islamic union is wonderful but why is he alone in expressing these views? What one hears from Islamic preachers is hardly the message of peace that you express? Why are people so poor in Islamic countries, why is tyranny so common among Islamic nations?
The important thing is the moral values revealed in the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas). In the Qur’an, Allah commands believers to be moderate, full of love, gentle, forgiving, humble, tolerant and agreeable. Throughout the course of his life, the Prophet (saas) called all of humanity to peace and love, and was a role model with his trustworthiness, justice, moral virtue and good manners. It is impossible for a society that fully complies with the moral values of the Qur’an to be prone to violence. It is impossible for anyone with a proper conception of the Prophet (saas) and who adopts him as a role model to be hard-hearted. With the rapid spread of Qur’anic moral values, the Muslim world will enjoy enlightenment and well-being, and Islamic civilization will be a beacon shedding light across the whole world. Within 10 to 20 years, the world will be a place in which the rights of all, no matter what their ideas or faiths, will be protected, in which genuinely faithful Jews, Christians and Muslims can live together as brothers and sisters, in which plenty and abundance as well as love and compassion reign, and where human beings can be joyful, happy and at peace. What matters is not the errors of the past, but the efforts made to improve the future. By Allah’s leave, those who do all they can to preach the love, compassion, might and power of Allah, who warn others against the tyranny of materialism, who strengthen the faith and brotherhood will have the upper hand. In the Qur’an, Allah promises to “hurl the truth against falsehood” and “perfect His Light.” Our hope is that, inshaAllah, this promise will soon be made a reality.

The 23 November, 2008, issue of Arab News, the most popular English-language daily in Saudi Arabia carried a special interview in Istanbul with Adnan Oktar by P.K. Abdul Ghafour. The report in Arab News, one of the Middle East’s main English-language dailies, was titled "Harun Yahya: Win over Darwinism" and had a great influence on Darwinist circles in particular. Harun Yahya is the pen name of Adnan Oktar, a prominent Turkish intellectual and writer based in Istanbul. His research findings, proving the fallacy of Darwinism, have won him international acclaim. A strong advocate of Turkish Islamic Union, Yahya believes that the formation of such a union would solve many problems facing the Muslim world today.
Speaking to Arab News in Istanbul, he said he was seeking a world of peace and love. “I am dreaming of a world where all people live together in peace and harmony. I also want to see terrorism and violence eliminated, sectarian differences and conflicts among Muslims eradicated and the Islamic faith and ethics promoted across the world.”
Yahya has so far published over 300 books of which 60 have been translated into different languages including Arabic, English, French, Russian and Spanish. “I have written and published over 45,000 pages. About 80 million copies of my books have been downloaded from our websites in 2008. These are astonishing numbers which show that people are interested in my work and this makes me extremely happy,” he said.
Yahya’s books and documentaries, based on the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah, have been instrumental in deepening the faith of Muslims in God and making young Muslim men and women proud of their religion. Many television stations around the world telecast his documentaries that reaffirm the existence and power of God. His analytical writings on Darwinism, atheist Zionism, Marxism and Freemasonry have helped in exposing the hollowness of these ideologies.
The Turkish scholar applauded Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his efforts to promote inter-faith dialogue at the international level. “I have been observing King Abdullah’s activities very closely. He’s a very sincere person and a true believer. I respect his decisions and ideas because I know that he is working to promote world peace.”
During his detailed interview with Arab News, Yahya also spoke about his ideas to end the protracted Arab-Israeli conflict. “The solution to this conflict needs to be as simple as possible in order to enable people in the region to live in unity and friendship,” he said.
He praised the Arab peace initiative, originally proposed by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, saying it should not be ignored.
“The real problem in Israel lies in the fact that it is governed by atheist Zionists from behind the scenes. We have to get rid of these Masonic forces so that Muslims and Jews can govern it. Judaism is an old version of Islam. With the passage of time, it underwent a lot of distortions and changes. The true believers of Judaism are not the ones governing Israel now,” he pointed out.
The Turkish Islamic Union is one of Yahya’s fond dreams. He says: “Muslims have a Qur’anic obligation to act in unison as brothers. The Turkish Islamic Union is essential to achieve that goal. The Muslim and Turkic states must come together under the umbrella of this union in which every state will deal with its internal affairs independently and work together to realize their common objectives.”
He said the Turkish Islamic Union has the potential to open up to all countries of the world. “It will have no enemies because it will have the ability to transform enemies into friends,” he said. About 95 percent of people in the Islamic and Turkic states are looking forward to such a union. “The only thing we need to do is to encourage our heads of state and politicians to form it. People are already talking about a customs union, a common market and a single currency. It shows people in their minds have already accepted such a union.” He is optimistic that the Turkish Islamic Union could become a reality within the next 10 years.
Yahya favors Turkey’s attempt to become a full member of the European Union. However, he argued that Turkey should become the leader of Islamic Union first before becoming an EU member in order to strengthen its position. “Turkey would not benefit from its EU membership if it wins it now because Europe wants to have southeastern Turkey including Cyprus and Istanbul and that is not at all acceptable,” he stated.
Most Turkish people are religious and their women wear headscarves, he said. “It is true that wearing headscarves is not allowed in public institutions such as schools and universities but this is not the decision of the Turkish people. It is the decision of the Constitutional Court and a diktat of the Constitutional Law. Hopefully, this would be changed in the future. If the current law does not permit women to wear headscarves, we cannot say they would not be allowed in the future too.”
A fierce opponent of Darwinism, Yahya takes the credit for defeating the theory of evolution. “First, we offered Darwinists around the world 100 million fossils, which prove that this world came into being as a result of God’s creationism and not because of evolution. Second, Darwin wrote in his books that people have to find transitional forms to prove the theory of evolution, but nobody has been able to find a single transitional form. Third, Darwinists claim that the first cell came into being as a coincidence. But it is impossible for even a single protein to be formed by chance. Fourth, we have proved that the skulls that were displayed as evidence of evolution are fake. Darwinism cannot explain how we can see or hear or sense with the support of our brain.”
Polls conducted by newspapers in Germany, France, Switzerland and Denmark showed that 85-90 percent of Europeans no longer believed in the theory of evolution.
According to Yahya, the 9/11 attacks in the US, the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, the defeat of the Iraqi military and the global financial crisis are signs of the second coming of Jesus (peace be upon him). “Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has already given these signs. The continuing wars, bloodshed, hopelessness, etc. show that the time for the arrival of Messiah is approaching,” he said. “The arrival of Messiah will bring about a golden age where people are happy and with a lot of wealth.”
Asked about the allegation Yahya does not believe that Prophet Muhammad was the last prophet, he said: “This allegation could have been spread by the misunderstanding of a certain group of people who are not happy with the second coming of Jesus (pbuh) and the things that I have explained about it. Our Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) is the last prophet and the last messenger with a book. No other prophet or messenger with a book will ever come again. I have clearly mentioned that when Jesus (pbuh) comes, he would not bring a new Shariah or a new message or a new sacred book. He will come as a Muslim and follow the Shariah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).”
Yahya refuted allegations that the Qur’an promotes terrorism. “Islam is a religion of peace and it promotes virtue and tolerance. It stresses brotherhood. The Qur’an says very clearly that if you kill one innocent person, it amounts to killing the whole mankind.
Referring to the accusations against Abul A’ala Moudoodi and Syed Qutb that their books promoted terrorism, he said: “I have read their books carefully and have not seen anything encouraging terrorism and violence. I believe that they were very sincere Muslims and true believers. Those who criticize them or find faults with them should go through their books again and read them carefully.”
He highlighted the efforts of his organization, Global Publishing, to spread the message of the Qur’an and Sunnah in English through his websites harunyahya.com and harunyahya.net. “We have plans to publish a translation of the Qur’an in English and produce Islamic movies but they are projects that need a lot of time and funds. If God bestows upon us such material means, we’ll try to implement them.”
Yahya recalled French President Nicholas Sarkozy’s encouraging comments after reading his book, Atlas of Creation. “Sarkozy said that in everyone’s heart the love of God resides. It is God Who constantly sends to people the messages of humility and love, peace and brotherhood, and tolerance and respect. We should conform to those messages. God does not enslave man but frees him.” Atlas of Creation, he said, had also influenced former French President Jacques Chirac and former British Premier Tony Blair.
Yahya urged Muslims not to believe in the false accusations made against him by those who oppose his views and ideas. “Atheist Zionists, Masons and Darwinists spread these allegations because they want to silence me. If you have any doubts or questions, feel free to ask me directly or email to my website. We will be glad to answer them. God has urged believers to investigate accusations before believing them,” he said.
The Evolution Debate is Shaped by Harun Yahya … He Has a Tremendous Influence - 11.12.2008 USA/PRI's The World
The World, a weekly program jointly produced by the BBC, PRI and WGBH, carried a broadcast on the subject of the rejection of the theory of evolution in the Islamic world on 11 December 2008. In the program, broadcast by 218 radio stations in the USA, Salman Hameed, a British academic of Pakistani origins, discussed the impact of the works of Harun Yahya in that context:
"Currently THE DEBATE IS BEING SHAPED by creationists in the Islamic world. THE MOST PROMINENT ONE IS HARUN YAHYA IN TURKEY. And he links evolution with atheism and also with the West. Everything that is wrong with the West he ascribes that to the acceptance of evolution... Many of the participants that I have talked to in my lectures here [in Pakistan] they usually cite Harun Yahya’s work."
Asked by the presenter "Is he influential?," Hameed replied:
"He has an enormous reach. In fact his books are widely available not only in the Muslim world, but also in the Muslim diaspora, for example in Europe, in England. His documentaries are shown on television everyday and recently he sent out this 850 page Atlas… HE HAS A TREMENDOUS INFLUENCE at present regarding evolution. THE MOST PROMINENT VOICE we have in the Islamic world is that of creationist Harun Yahya."
Islamic Creationism - 22.02.2009 Philippines/The Manila Times
The Manila Times, the oldest national English-daily in the Philippines, published in the capital Manila since 1898, carried an article titled “Islamic Creationism” on 22 February, 2009. Written by Rony V. Diaz, the article said that with his "delightful looking Atlas of Creation" Adnan Oktar, described as a Muslim creationist, had made great progress in causing evolution to be questioned in Muslim countries. It particularly emphasized that the main reason for the author’s opposition to the theory of evolution is that in the form of materialism and atheism, evolution represents a grave social and cultural danger. The article also said that the levels of people believing in evolution were very low in public opinion polls conducted in Muslim countries.
Darwin Must Be Accused of Terrorism and Antisemitism - 25.09.2009 Norway/Dagbladet
On 25 September, 2009, Dagbladet, Norway’s third-largest newspaper with a circulation of 150,000 and that has been published in the country ever since 1869, carried a wide-ranging report concerning Adnan Oktar and his Atlas of Creation. Some sections from the report concerning the global impact of Adnan Oktar’s activities read as follows:
OPPOSITION TO THE TEACHING OF EVOLUTION IN CLASS HAS GROWN SIGNIFICANTLY, the professor of biology and Darwinist author Richard Dawkins said in an interview with The Times in August that this oppposition mainly comes from Muslim students... Islamic Creationism has grown very much stronger.
DARWINISM IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL: Harun Yahya is very powerful in Turkey..
THE CENTER OF ISLAMIC CREATIONISM is the “Science Research Foundation” in Istanbul, under the leadership of Harun Yahya. Real name Adnan Oktar. Under his pen name he says that the theory of evolution seeks to destroy people’s beliefs... He says that Darwin laid the groundwork for such people as Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot. He describes how racism, fascism and communism have their origins in Darwin’s theory.
HARUN YAHYA is highly respected in much of the Islamic world and appears in the media from Bosnia to Egypt. He criticizes Western materialism on such channels as Al-Jazeera and Press TV, on which he frequently emphasizes how anti-Semitism and terror are the products of Darwinism.
In terms of their appearance, all animals, plants and insects living today are identical to their fossilized forebears... (Harun Yahya) believes that the theory of evolution is in crisis because it has no known scientific support.
The Atlas of Creation, one of his most showy works... has also come into Richard Dawkins’s possession... Dawkins believes that the way so many people support Creationism in Britain stems from the influence of Muslims.
A CREATIONIST MOVEMENT CONDUCTED THROUGH PUBLICATION IN TURKEY: According to a string of evidence that Harun Yahya produces in his book Atlas of Creation, Darwin’s theories are totally mistaken. 
EXACTLY THE SAME: Accordıng to the Turkish ceationist Harun Yahya, who compares fossils with present-day life forms, animals alive today are identical to how they were when first created. Reuters Affirms That The Vatican Conference Is Anti-Democratic - 04.03.2009 United Kingdom/Reuters
Read the whole article posted in the Reuters blogs which affirms that the conference sponsored by Vatican at the Pontifical Gregorian University is anti-democratic:
"The start of a high-powered Vatican-sponsored acadmeic conference on evolution was anything but fossilized.
The third STOQ International Conference, called Biological Evolution, Facts and Theories, began on Tuesday at the Pontifical Gregorian University (picture right) under the patronage of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Culture.
The conference, which has been organised together with the University of Notre Dame to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin, had barely gotten underway when charges of censorship and undemocratic and unacademic behaviour began flying.
At the end of the first session Oktar Babuna, a Turkish doctor and collaborator of prominent Turkish anti-Darwin campaigner Harun Yahya,asked for the floor to put forward a question. Babuna, a proponent of the Islamic creationist campaign against evolution, spoke about his view that there were insufficient transitional forms from species to species to support the theory of evolution.
After he began speaking two professors on the dias, Francisco J. Ayala of the University of California at Irvine and Douglas Futuyma of the State University of New York were visibly irritated. Someone in the hall can be heard saying “turn the microphone off” and seconds later two organisers approached Babuna. One of them abruptly took the microphone away from Babuna and another ordered him to go back to his seat. Watch it all here
“After I walked back to my seat someone said “only evolutionists can ask questions,” Babuna told Reuters afterwards. “This is very anti-democratic and very unacademic. If this is a scientific meeting … if you have scientific questions to ask, they should be responded to scientifically, everybody accepts that … if you force people to shut up and don’t let them ask any question … then it is not a scientific theory but an ideology.” The spat was filmed by Babuna’s associate Dr Cihat Gundogdu, who put an edited version on the Harun Yahya website.

The Islamic Personality Award Should Go to Harun Yahya - 01.12.2008 Kuwait/Al Rai
Al Rai, Kuwait’s largest Arabic-language daily, carried praise for Harun Yahya’s struggle against Darwinism in its column page in its 1 December, 2008, edition. At the same time, Dr. Mohammed Al Awathi, a presenter on Al Rai television, said in his back page column that Adnan Oktar should be given an award for his contributions to Islam and that the works of Harun Yahya should be translated into Chinese for the struggle against Darwinism in China. The article went on to say the following about the works of Harun Yahya:
Every year in the month of Ramadan the Dubai government awards a prize to an individual or institution for their services to Islam... Every year, the organizers ask me months in advance for names to whom the Islamic Personality Award might be given. I mentioned the Turkish scholar who writes under the pen name Harun Yahya. Born in Ankara in 1956, he studied in the fine arts department of Mimar Sinan University and in the philosophy department of Istanbul University. Most of the books he has published since 1980 have been about politics, science or faith. Harun Yahya writes about the erroneous nature of the theory of evolution; he discusses the origin of life, how the first cell formed and the invalidity of the theory of evolution. He says there is a link between Darwinism and bloody ideologies. I saw Harun Yahya’s brief programs during Ramadan. His excellently printed books are very impressive, full of colored illustrations and scientific diagrams. His books include; The Miracle of Hormones, The Miracle in the Cell. Photosynthesis; The Green Miracle, The Design in Nature, Devotion Among Animals: Revealing the Work of God, The Miracle of Creation in Plants, Deep Thinking, Magnificence Everywhere, Timelessness And The Reality Of Fate. Harun Yahya’s films include Islam Denounces Terrorism, The Collapse of Materialism, The End of Darwinism, The Architects in Nature and The Splendor in the Seas. Sad to say, I only saw three of Harun Yahya’s books at the book fair, which is due to end on Saturday, and am now looking for a copy of his The Disasters Darwinism Brought to Humanity...
Creationist Ideas Continue to Expand Their Sphere of Influence - 06.02.2009 Switzerland/Tribune de Genève
Tribune de Genève, the daily published in the Swiss canton of Geneva, once again raised the impact of the Atlas of Creation on 6 February, 2009. Published in French and with a readership of 175,000, the paper referred to the effect of the Atlas of Creation in the words "Switzerland has not been spared this ‘invasion’.” The cover story went to on to describe the heavy blows made Darwinism suffer in Europe:

Oktar Has Targeted the Whole of Europe - 10.02.2009 Canada/La Presse
La Presse, one of Canada’s highest circulation dailies, published in French in Montreal ever since 1884, carried an article describing the rise of belief in Creation in Europe. An article in the 10 February, 2009, issue referred to the impact of Adnan Oktar’s works as follows:
... Adnan Oktar (pen name Harun Yahya) of Turkish origins... the author of 200 documentaries, and 300 books translated into 60 different languages and with 200 web sites. He has succeeded in spreading creationism widely in Turkey... Oktar has targeted the whole of Europe, and is doing this particularly with his showy book called the Atlas of Creation. But he concentrates on France in particular, because if he can make himself accepted in a country with powerful non-religious roots, then he believes his cause will have been successful.
Reports in the French press say that belief in Creation is spreading widely, despite all the obstacles. Teachers are reporting difficult moments in class in the face of anti-Darwin objections. Darwinist-materialist circles are literally in mourning over the way the French have lost with a single book – the Atlas of Creation - a philosophy they have espoused for 150 years.

Dagbladet Information, published in Copenhagen and with a daily readership of around 110,000, carried an article on 12 February, 2009, titled "Congratulations Darwin, You Are a Liar.” The report described Harun Yahya's anti-Darwinist activities as follows:

As one of the world’s best-known anti-Darwinists he has earned an enormous success with his statements and newly published books. His chez d’oeuvre is the giant 7 kg and 786 page Atlas of Creation. The book contains pictures of fossils and maintains that man never underwent any physical evolution and is the same now as he was 100 million years ago.
Islamic Creationism On The Rise - 02.12.2009 Australia/ABC1 TV
ABC1, Australia’s official television established in 1932 with worldwide broadcasting, has reported an interview with Adnan Oktar by Middle East reporter Ben Knight in the “Lateline” news programme dated 2 December 2009. In the item titled “Islamic Creationism On the Rise”, the effectiveness of the works of Adnan Oktar, as the leader of Islamic Creationism, was pointed out and it was noted that “Turkey is becoming more religious”. Part of the news item cited as follows:
... lately, there have been new voices in the Islamic world denouncing Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection. That shouldn't be surprising, I suppose, as in many Middle Eastern countries, religious belief and observance are surging. Particularly in Turkey, where our Middle East correspondent Ben Knight met a leading campaigner for Islamic creationism... Adnan Oktar has carved himself out a niche as the leading Islamic voice against the theory of evolution.
ADNAN OKTAR, ISLAMIC CREATIONIST: Darwinism removed love from the face of the world. It caused the deaths of more than 350 million people. It led to the outbreak of more than two world wars as well as communism, fascism and satanism. It has legalised terror and anarchy.
And he rejects the idea that religion might have caused its own share of conflict and suffering. I asked him about the Crusades and September 11.
ADNAN OKTAR: All of the people who committed the 9/11 events in America had Marxist tendencies and had Darwinist, materialist training in America and England. They believed in Lenin's theory suggesting that terror is the solution. There has never been a war originating from religion -they merely used religion.
Adnan Oktar claims to have published more than 300 books but that he doesn't take any royalties. But what brought him to the attention of the West was this: his massive Atlas of Creation. It shows page after page of fossils and compares them with the same living things today, claiming there's been no change, and therefore, no evolution.And he claims to have single-handedly demolished Darwinism, beginning in his native Turkey:
ADNAN OKTAR: In Turkey it is now embarrassing to defend Darwinism. In order to defend such a deceit, one should have a really thick skin on his face. That is to say a person should really be something different in order to tell such an explicit obvious lie, looking directly into people's eyes.
Adnan Oktar says he doesn't want evolution teaching banned from schools.
ADNAN OKTAR: In schools Darwinism is being taught, but for the children, it's like a comedy show. It just makes them laugh.
Additionally, the interview was published on the channel’s web site as both text and video.
The Bravest Man in the Middle East - 14.02.2010 USA/FM Talk 101.1
FM Talk 101.1, one of the main radio stations broadcasting from the U.S. state of North Carolina, carried a live interview with Mr. Adnan Oktar on February 9, 2010. The radio is listed in the Talkers Magazine Heavy Hundred, that is in the top 100 radio show of the country. (You can listen to the full interview from here.) Allan Handelman introduced the interview, conducted by him, from his own web site under the caption “The bravest man in the Middle East” and went on to say:
Adnan Oktar... has been a prominent advocate of Islamic creationism in the creation-evolution debate. More notably, he advocates tolerance by Muslims of other religions, and he publicly denounces anti-semitism and terrorism, which he says are products of Darwinism.

The 9 November, 2009, issue of Times of Oman, which has been in publication since 1975, is the Sultanate of Oman’s oldest English-language newspaper and attracts millions of visitors to its web site every week, carried a report titled “In Turkey, fertile ground for creationism.” The report stated that Adnan Oktar was the most assertive proponent of Creationism in Turkey and that the number of believers in evolution in the country was in rapid decline:
"Darwin is the worst fascist there has ever been, and the worst racist history has ever witnessed," writes Harun Yahya...
The most visible Turkish proponent of creationism is named Adnan Oktar, who writes and appears daily on his own two-hour television show under the alias Harun Yahya. In 2006, Oktar created an international stir when his book of high-quality fossil images reached to biology teachers worldwide.
Adnan Oktar, who as Harun Yahya is Turkey's best-known and most assertive critic of evolution, says he is "following the path of Allah."
